The Cranky Monkey - Schedule & Course Info
7/27/08 Race #1 - Wakefield Park, Annandale, VA
Classes:
Junior 12-13, 10-11, and 9-Under 4-5 miles, 1 lap (no berms, no bowl)
Beginner and Junior 14-18 12 miles, 2 Laps
Sport, Clydesdale, and Single-speed 18 miles, 3 Laps
Expert 24 miles, 4 Laps
 

Cross country race at Wakefield Park in Annandale, VA. This course consists of a 6 mile single and double track loop. The course take racers through the 'Bowl' area as well as all the newly constructed trails on the north end of the powerstation.

This first race offers some excellent semi-technical moderate terrain to get the series started.

8/10/08 Race #2 - Fountainhead Regional Park, Fairfax Station, VA
Classes:
Beginner and Junior 14-18 9 miles, 1 Lap
Sport, Clydesdale, and Single-speed 15 miles, 2 Laps
Expert 21 miles, 3 Laps
 

Cross country race at Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax Station, VA. This course consists of a 2 mile road section, 1 mile on trail entrance, followed by either one, two, or three 6 mile laps around a fun, challenging, and technical single track loop.

Fountainhead offers an amazing mountain biking trail system where bikers can put their skills to the test. Get ready for an awesome challenge!

Expert 27 miles, 3 Laps
 

Cross country race at Quantico Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA. This course consists of a 9 mile lap around a fun, challenging, and semi-technical single track loop.

Quantico offers a VERY fun and wonderfully maintained mountain biking trail system which includes twisty singletrack, log ramps, several steep hills, and long fire road sections. This was a new addition to the series in 2006 and became an instant hit!
