These are self selected classes. NO SANDBAGGING PLEASE. EX2 reserves the right to move racers into other classes. For example, if you finished in the top three in any of the 2007 Beginner class races, you should be racing in the Sport class or higher in 2008. Series points do not transfer from one class to another.
For age based classes, age is determined by age at the end of the year, on 12/31/08.
Beginner Female, Beginner Male 34-Under, Beginner Male 35+, Beginner Male 45+ (new for 2008):
- Age and skill based. This class is reserved for racers new to the sport.
- 8 - 12 miles
Sport Female, Sport Male 34-Under, Sport Male 35+, Sport Male 45+:
- Age and skill based. The most popular class. Designed for intermediate to advanced riders.
- 15 - 18 miles
Expert Female, Expert Male 34-Under, Expert Male 35+, Expert Male 45+ (new for 2008):
- Age and skill based. A select class for very competitive racers.
- 21 - 27 miles
Clydesdale (new for 2008):
- Weight based class, open to all skill levels.
- Riders must weigh 200+ lbs.
- 15 - 18 miles
Single-speed Open:
- Open to Male and Female racers with single gear bicycles.
- 15 - 18 miles
Junior Open (14 - 18 years old):
- Age based class, open to all skill levels. Male and female racers compete together.
- Youths under 18 must have parental/guardian consent (signed waiver form).
- 8 - 12 miles
Junior Open (12-13, 10-11, and 9-Under) (new for 2008):
- Age based class. Boys and girls compete together.
- All kids must have parental/guardian consent (signed waiver form).
- WAKEFIELD RACE ONLY: 4-5 miles with no berms and no bowl
