A note on Race Passports:
In adventure racing, the race passport is usually a small book or single sheet of paper that informs racers about the course. Because the course layout and sequence of events are not publicized in advanced, the race passport becomes very important to teams. Race passports might also contain other important information such as rules, forbidden areas, and cut-off times. They are sometimes used to keep track of a team's forward progress throughout the race.
It is important to keep your passport protected from the elements. Most teams use either freezer style, re-sealable plastic bags, or more industrial sized map cases (as used for canoeing and/or kayaking).
