Trail Runners Prep for Fast and Fun Wakefield!

The third race of the Fall Backyard Burn Trail Running Series will be held this Sunday, November 2nd at Wakefield Park in Annandale, VA.  This ‘mostly flat’ course is tons of fun and includes twisty single-track hiking trails, wide cinder trails, and several shallow stream crossings.  We are looking forward to a fantastic day and wish you the best of luck!

Click here for race day information.

Click here to see who is racing.

There is still space left race register today and come join the fun.  Online registration closes at midnight tonight (Thurs 10/30) and limited race day registration will be available (currently have 40 spots left).

If you can’t race then you can still enjoy the day and help make it all happen by volunteering at this event.  Volunteers help with check-in, aid stations, course marshaling, timing, food distribution, course sweeping and course demarking.  Times vary from 7am-11:30am and shifts are usually 2-4 hours.  Volunteers receive free food, a cool race t-shirt, $15 off a future EX2 race or $5 off EX2 merchandise, and our sincere appreciation. Plus, volunteering at EX2 races is fun!

Trail Runners Tackle Challenging Fountainhead!

Adventurous trail runners tested themselves yesterday at beautiful Fountainhead Regional Park as they competed in the second race of the Fall Backyard Burn Trail Running Series.  Littered with roots, rocks, steep hills, and stream crossings, the technical course at Fountainhead is one of the most challenging in the series.  Congratulations to all the racers who took on this demanding course and a big thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and the Fountainhead park authority for their wonderful support!

Results are now posted.  Series Point Totals are now posted.  Photos are coming soon.

Our next FBYB race is on November 2nd at Wakefield Park in Annandale, VA.  This race is almost full so register today to claim one of the remaining spots.  If you can’t race then you can still join the action as a volunteer.
