Blue Crab Bolt Kicks Off at Seneca Creek!

Excellent Experiences were had this morning as we kicked off the seventh edition of the Blue Crab Bolt Trail Running Series at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD.  Close to 300 racers were treated to beautiful sunny skies and perfect temperatures as they negotiated fun and challenging 5K and 10K courses littered with rocks, roots, and demanding hill climbs.  Thanks to all the racers, volunteers, sponsors, and the park authority for making it all happen.  It was a great day of trail running action!

Results are now posted.  Photos are coming soon.

Our next Blue Crab Bolt race is on Saturday, July 30th at Schaeffer Farms Trail System in Germantown, MD.  The trails at Schaeffer are super fun and include twisty single-track, open field running, stream crossings, and several steep hills. Mostly known as a mountain biking destination, Schaeffer has tons of semi-technical terrain that trail runners love.  Register today to join in the fun!

Inaugural Reservoir Relay was Epic!

Close to 150 adventurous trail runners were treated to sunny skies and beautiful scenery as they negotiated technical, hilly, and rain soaked single-track at the inaugural Reservoir Relay Trail Running Race held this past Saturday in Western Fairfax County.

This race traversed the famed Bull Run-Occoquan Trail and was divided into three linear segments measuring 5-7 miles each.  Solo racers ran the entire 18 mile course and relay teams leap frogged the three segments where the 'active' runner and the ‘on deck’ runner swapped car keys for e-punch key (timing chip).

Thank you to all the racers, volunteers, sponsors, and the park authority for helping to make this event a huge success!  It was a fun and adventurous day out on the trails!

Results are now posted.

Our next race on Saturday, June 4th is the fourth annual Fountainhead Off-Road Half Marathon and 10K in Fairfax Station, VA.  This fun and challenging course is a trail runners' dream and its location along the banks of the Occoquan Reservoir has some of the most beautiful and remote-feeling terrain in Fairfax County, VA, only 30 minutes outside of Washington D.C.  We hope to see you there!
