Rocky Gap State Park - Flintstone, MD
- 9 Hours of Endurance Duathlon (9am-6pm)
- 3 Hours of Trail Running (9am-12pm)
- 6 Hours of Mountain Biking (12pm-6pm)
The second annual EX2 Day of Endurance offers a unique format to the racing community. This event included three races in one, allowing athletes to compete in either a 9 hour trail running and mountain biking relay duathlon OR a 3 hour trail running relay race OR a 6 hour mountain bike relay race. The duathlon challenges solos and two person relay teams to complete as many laps as possible in a 9 hour period, trail running on a 5 mile course from 9am-12pm and mountain biking along a 9 mile course from 12pm-6pm. Solos and teams of two will also have the opportunity to test their trail running or mountain biking skills while racing alongside and at the same time as the duathlon racers. Racers had tons of fun at the inaugural event in 2008. Come on out for a day filled with trail running and mountain biking action!

About Rocky Gap State Park and the Amenities: Rocky Gap has tons to do and is just a 2.5 hour drive from the Washington and Baltimore metro areas. The trail network at Rocky Gap is stellar and the 9 mile mountain biking course and 5 mile trail running course are filled with fun, twisty, and semi-technical singletrack, much of which is right along the lake. On both Fri 10/2 and Sat 10/3, racers will be permitted to camp in the huge grassy pit area which is located right next to two gorgeous beaches ($10/team/night - pay at check-in). Swimming is permitted in the lake and at that time of year, the water temperature should be chilly but refreshing for those in-between-lap swims. Bathrooms are also available right near the transition and pit areas. For those that do not want to camp, there is a fancy lodge right on site and plenty of bed and breakfasts located right in Cumberland (less than 10 miles away).
