The Backyard Burn - Point System
A point system will be used to determine the top finishers within each age group in both the 5 and 10 miles races. For the Spring Series, each competitor's three-race point total determines final series rankings. For the Fall Series, each competitor's four-race point total determines final series rankings. In case of a tie in point totals, the winner will be determined based on their place in the final race. Participants must race in a minimum of two races to qualify for series' awards. In each race, points will be awarded to the top 20 male and female finishers in each age group. Points will be awarded as follows (revised for 2006):
