9/13/15 Fall Series - Race #1 - Wakefield Park - Annandale, VA

Course Description (5.5 mile OR 10.0 mile option):

Location, Location, Location. This race takes place just a stones throw from the Capital Beltway. The course is fast with mostly flat even terrain and only a few stream crossings. Competitors will run over cinder trails, under power lines, and along single-track. Wakefield is the backyard playground for many Northern Virginia runners, walkers, and mountain bikers. Bring family and friends to cheer you on, as this course is also spectator friendly.

9/27/15 Fall Series - Race #2 - Riverbend - Great Falls, VA

Course Description (5.05 mile OR 10.1 mile option):

Riverbend is a new addition to the Fall BYB series and this course is sweet! The park lies adjacent to the Potomac River and just west of Great Falls National Park. The course includes incredible riverside single-track, challenging hills, and amazing views. We are so excited about this new venue and are sure it will be a huge hit.

10/18/15 Fall Series - Race #3 - Lake Fairfax - Reston, VA

Course Description (5.0 mile OR 10.0 mile option):

We added the Lake Fairfax course to the Fall BYB series in 2013 and it was in instant hit! Located in Reston, VA, this suburban park has a lake, huge fields, pavilions, and many newly designed trails. This fast and fun race course includes forested single-track, lakeside trails, and open fields. This newer race is a crowd pleaser and a great addition to the Fall BYB series.

11/1/15 Fall Series - Race #4 - Laurel Hill - Lorton, VA

Course Description (5.6 miles OR 9.9 miles)

After taking a year off due to construction, Laurel Hill is back and we are delighted to be returning to this excellent venue. Located off I95, just south of the Capital Beltway, this beautiful, fast, fun, and historic race course includes a mixture of forested and open meadow single-track meandering through 1600 acres of the former Lorton Prison complex. Under abandoned guard towers, we will stage out of the former prison 'yard' on the property of the Workhouse Arts Center. The race course has been redesigned so we will not need to cross Lorton Rd. Race at the Laurel Hill BYB and take a run through time and history.

11/15/15 Fall Series - Race #5 - Fountainhead - Fairfax Station, VA

Course Description (5.0 mile OR 10.0 mile option):

Fountainhead Regional Park is situated along the banks of the Occoquan Reservoir in Western Fairfax County. This challenging race course is beautiful and consists mostly of hiking trails (including the Bull Run Occoquan Trail), horse trails, and old dirt roads. Competitors will run over rocks and roots, through several streams, and up some hills. This course was a new addition in 2006 and became an immediate hit.

11/29/15 Fall Series - Race #6 - Hemlock Overlook - Clifton, VA

Course Description (5.5 mile OR 10.3 mile option):

Hemlock Overlook, located along the banks of the historic Bull Run, feels surprisingly remote for being so close to Washington D.C. Sightings of deer, beaver, turkey, osprey and great blue heron are not uncommon in this 425 acre park. This racecourse consists mostly of hiking trails (including the Bull Run Occoquan Trail), old dirt roads, and open fields. Competitors will run over rocks and roots, cross a few streams, and up some hills. The course is designed to be spectator friendly with several areas designated for family and friends to cheer on their racers.
