12 Hours of Cranky Monkey - Schedule & Course Info

Saturday, 6/23/2012 - Quantico, VA

The sixth annual 12 Hours of Cranky Monkey race course consists of a 9.5 mile lap around a fun, challenging, and semi-technical single track loop. The course includes twisty singletrack, log ramps, several steep hills, and long fire road sections. Solo racers and teams of 2 or 3 will complete as many laps as possible in a 12 hour period, from 8am-8pm. Click here to learn about the Quantico trails.

Pre-ride the course according to the schedule below. The course will be lightly marked (red or blue arrows at intersections) by June 2, 2012. Several group rides will be led but riders may choose to follow the course markings and ride at their own pace. The course will be heavily marked on the morning of Thursday, June 21st.

The race course starts in the field between the softball fields and the CDC (Child Development Center). See directions. You will need your driver's license to enter the base. The Military Police may also ask for proof of auto insurance when you drive on base.

Schedule: Friday, June 22, 2012
6:00 AM - 8:00 PM	Course marked for pre-riding.
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM	Check-In/Packet Pick Up. Turn in liability forms (both an EX2 and Quantico liability form for each racer). Full team not required for Check-In/Packet Pick Up, BUT forms for all team members must be turned in to receive race packet. HIGHLY suggested that racers check-in on Friday as you will be permitted to reserve your pit area starting at 5pm. Pit area open for reserving spots. EX2 Merchandise Sales
Schedule: Saturday, June 23, 2012
6:00 AM - 6:30 AM	Late check-in (only required for teams that did not check-in on Friday). Turn in liability forms (both an EX2 and Quantico liability form for each racer). Forms for all team members must be turned in to receive race packet. HIGHLY suggested that racers check-in on Fri as you will be permitted to reserve your pit area on Fri.
7:00 AM - 7:15 AM	Race Brief near the timing tent (mandatory for all team captains)
7:15 AM - 7:45 AM	E-punch pick-up and log-in of starting racer. Softball field open to position bikes for Le Mans style start.
8:00 AM	Race Start near timing tent
8:00 AM - 8:00 PM	Race, Music, Food Vendor, Sponsors, EX2 Merchandise Sales.
7:00 PM	Cut-off to begin final lap.
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM	Post race pizza.
9:00 PM	Presentation of awards/prizes and random giveaways.
